BRIEF

Limited edition packaging concept. A collaboration between former vogue editor Alexandra Shumlan and No7. Bringing together 2 limited edition gift collections. The collaboration draws on Alexandra's expertise in the most iconic and influential design styles in fashion and interiors.

GRAPHIC

'This story contains straight lines, cubes, in an edgy, more unconventional approach to pattern. There are references to the Festival of Britain style when new shapes and colours were brought into the mainstream. An individual take on personal style. Chic but attention grabbing. This taste is more artistic and bold - celebrating modernity, independence.'- Alexandra

DECORATIVE

‘This is a colour and mood theme based on opulence and rich textures. The lines are curved and intertwined. The shapes reference orientalist and Victoriana – like paisleys, the flowers of William Morris, feathers, the exotica of palms and pineapples. A desire for deep comfort and reassuring opulence in testing times. This is a reflection of timeless luxury – true style rather than transient fashion.’- Alexandra

DESIGN APPROACH

A dual-themed collection celebrating two design movements: one rooted in ornate historical luxury, the other in modernist independent style. The Decorative Collection featured hand-painted prints with curved lines and opulent textures, while the Graphic Collection drew inspiration from 1950s Bauhaus design with geometric shapes linen textured paper and contrasting glossy formica-esque finishes. Unified by editorial-style packaging that captured the curator's vision.
